Soulful and sizzling jazz saxophone quartet

Saxophonics is a well-established jazz saxophone quartet that over the last few years has entertained jazz audiences around the north east region, including appearances at the Stockton Riverside Festival and Gateshead International Jazz Festival.

Their repertoire consists of complex jazz arrangements, many of which are original compositions, featuring intricate harmony and lively improvisations by all members.

Saxophonics are:
Keith Robinson (alto and soprano),
Alan Marshall (tenor, composer and arranger)
Steve Summers (alto and tenor)
Niall Armstrong (baritone, composer and arranger)

“An out and out demonstration of saxophone virtuosity. Piano, bass, drums – who needs ‘em? ” – Lance Liddle (Bebop Spoken Here)

“Saxophonics played their own work, great sweeping pieces that skitted and scintillated, soulful and sizzling, although they also did one or two more recognisable pieces, including an impressive version of Come Fly With Me.” – Duncan Leatherdale (Northern Echo)
