How we handle your data
The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), comes into effect on 25 May 2018. It is designed to harmonise data privacy laws across Europe, to protect and empower all EU citizens and to reshape the way organisations across Europe approach data privacy.
We are taking this opportunity to explain how we handle the very small amount of personal data we have relating to our members and supporters. These include:
- Members of Jazz.Coop
- Participants in workshops and courses
- Newsletter subscribers
Members of Jazz.Coop: We keep the following data: name, email address, postal address, telephone (optional), number of shares, date of purchase. We have a legal obligation to store this data and this is made clear on the membership application form.
Participants in workshops and courses: We keep the following data: name, email address, telephone (optional), instruments played, experience of playing jazz, courses/workshops attended. Participants are asked to give their consent when they enrol.
Newsletter subscribers: We keep the following data: name, email address. Subscribers give their consent when they subscribe.
We store all personal data securely, we only use it for the purpose for which consent was given, and we will never supply it to a third party.
