Folk meets Jazz
Louis Armstrong said ‘all music is folk music’, and here at Jazz.Coop we agree. We don’t like to put musicians in boxes. So on Saturday 22 November we’re putting on a unique double bill featuring some of the region’s finest folk musicians exploring the role of jazz in their music.
LANDERMASON (pictured) plus ANDY MAY / IAN STEPHENSON
Landermason are the combined talents of singer/multi instrumentalist Fiona Lander (piano, saxophones, clarinet & whistles) and finger style guitarist/singer Paul Mason. They have been writing, recording and performing together for over 10 years and present a fabulous show covering a variety of musical genres.
Andy May (Northumbrian pipes, piano) and Ian Stephenson (guitar, double bass) explore traditional and original tunes with an impeccable display of virtuosity and originality, improvising like jazz musicians.
