First AGM
On Tuesday 15 July, 28 members came to the Globe for the first Annual General Meeting of Pink Lane Jazz Co-op Ltd (the legal name of Jazz.Coop).
The formal business of the meeting was concluded in less than half an hour. This was mainly because the year under review finished on 31 January 2014, and people wanted to talk about the momentous things that have happened since.
The accounts for the period from 5 March 2013 (date of registration) to 31 January 2014 (end of financial year) were approved. They showed a turnover of £4,398 and a surplus before tax of £246.
The new board of directors was elected (follow this link for names).
The membership approved (with no votes against and one abstention) by Special Resolution, that the Board be given delegated powers to manage the change of the registered name of the Society from ‘Pink Lane Jazz Co-op’ to ‘Jazz.Coop’ when the board feels it is appropriate to do so.
After the formal business was over, members discussed the plans for the refurbishment of the Globe and general principles for the programme of music and education.
A very good first AGM.
