Eirik Svela European Quartet

Sunday 9 February, doors open 7.30pm
Hard swinging jazz quartet from UK and Norway

Now back in his native Norway after a long time in the UK, jazz guitarist Eirik Svela is establishing himself as an important voice amongst a new generation of jazz musicians in Oslo. Together with the Oslo based British saxophonist Dave Edge he’s presenting an exiting new quartet with organ prodigy Ross Stanley and the Norwegian drummer Roger Johansen.

Back in 2018 Eirik and Dave recorded the album Bits & Pieces in New York with the internationally acclaimed organ player Sam Yahel (Joshua Redman, Norah Jones). Both Dave and Eirik love playing with the Hammond B3 and are therefore understandably very excited about this new project featuring one of the UK’s most in demand jazz musicians. The band plays mostly original music by Eirik and Dave and the audience can expect hard swing, deep grooves and soaring melodies from this truly international quartet.
