Chris Standring fans flock to Globe

ChrisStandringGlobeFor the final night of his UK tour on 17 January smooth jazz guitar star Chris Standring played at the Globe in Newcastle and fans came from Aberdeen, Blackpool and York.

This was the biggest name gig that the Jazz Co-op had put on, and with tickets priced at £20 the most expensive. The Jazz Bar at the Globe was packed and everyone loved the rare opportunity to see an international star up close.

The success of this gig has given us the confidence to book more different acts rarely seen in Newcastle. In the Globe will host the first Newcastle gigs by jazz diva Anita Wardell and young Brazilian songwriter Noemi Nuti. And there’s rumours of another smooth jazz guitarist coming north.
