A Couple of Culprits + familiar guest
Thursday 16 May, doors open 7.30pm
It’s not exactly jazz but you may like it. An evening of chilled-out acoustic blues with plenty of improvisation.
Al Harrington and Jim Macara are busy guitarists in the North East blues/rock/funk scene, most recently playing together in The Culprits.
They are coming to play acoustic blues at the Globe where they are going to be joined by an old friend on double bass who is a familiar face at jazz gigs.
Al Harrington is a UK Blues Guitarist/Vocalist/Songwriter who performs original material and has featured as support act with 10 Years After, Paul Jones, Paul Young (Q-Tips) Brendan Croker and Big Joe Turner. Al recently appeared in Marton as guitarist for Paul Rodgers (Free/Bad Company/Queen). Al is now the main vocal guitarist with The Culprits.
Jim Macara plays guitar with The Culprits, Alive & Kicking, and Memphis Suns, and has played support to Mick Taylor, Ian Dury & The Blockheads, Paul Jones and The Ritchie Hayward Story.
Admission £6 on the door (£3 students)
